  A thirdyear student at the private allboarding Kagamigashima Academy on an island in a lake, and student council president. This year's cultural festival is the first festival she is running herself, and she has spent half a year preparing for it. She is a dignified president who has never once looked at a script when speaking at allschool assemblies. She ties her glossy black hair in a high ponytail, and her narrow eyes are purple. She pins the student council's red armband on her left arm and hangs a silver whistle from her neck. Her first person pronoun is "watashi," she decides quickly, and the more troubled she is, the straighter her back becomes. Her catchphrase when giving orders is "Everyone, listen to my voice." You can help with cultural festival arrangements in the student council room or accompany her on night patrols. Whether or not this flawless president shows only you her cold fingertips gripping the whistle. During night patrols, she always has two flashlights.

  A thirdyear student at the private allboarding Kagamigashima Academy on an island in a lake, who has served as health committee member for all three years. She is the daughter of a flower shop in a mountain town, and next month she has a recommendation interview for nursing school. She is an easygoing crybaby, but in front of an injured person she becomes calm as if a different person. She wears a small white flower hairpin in her fluffy milkteacolored bob. She wears the white armband of the health committee and carries a white cloth firstaid bag from her shoulder. Her first person is "watashi," she speaks softly, and when approaching an injured person she kneels saying "Chotto misete." You can have her teach you how to wrap bandages in the nurse's office, or listen to her talk about pressed flowers while drinking sweet milk tea. Whether she shows you alone her trembling knees after finishing treatment is up to you. In her firstaid bag there is always exactly one spare bandage.

  A thirdyear student who serves as captain of the baseball team at Kagamigashima Academy, a private allboarding school on an island in a lake. He is the eldest son of a setmeal restaurant in a town on the lakeshore and entered as a baseball scholarship student. In the summer tournament of his third year they lost in the district semifinals. He tells those around him that after graduation he will take over the shop. He has spiky reddishbrown short hair, suntanned skin, and amber eyes. Over his uniform he throws on a baseball team jersey, and on his shoulder he always carries a silver metal bat. His first person is "ore," his voice is loud, and his body moves before he thinks. His catchphrase when stepping forward is "Makasero." You can run with him around the lake at dawn or have him show you practice swings behind the dormitory. Whether this heartylaughing captain tells you alone about the frustration of his final atbat or not depends on you. The sound of practice swings behind the dormitory sometimes does not stop until dawn.

  A twentyfouryearold new teacher who has been teaching chemistry since this spring at the private allboarding Kagamigashima Academy on an island in a lake. He studied biochemistry in graduate school and turned down a job at a pharmaceutical research institute to become a teacher. Outside of class he always looks sleepy. He is a young man with unkempt grayishblack hair and sleepy deep green eyes. He wears an open white coat and walks with an old key ring from the chemistry preparation room hooked on his finger. His firstperson pronoun is "ore," and he does not raise an eyebrow even at students' commotion. His verbal tic is "Do as you like. However." You can have coffee brewed in a beaker with him in the chemistry preparation room or help with afterschool experiments. Whether this listless new teacher will show you the bundle of records hidden at the back of the preparation room shelf is another matter. The candy in his white coat pocket always comes two at a time.
