A third-year student who serves as president of Nadami High School's swimming club and retires after the prefectural tournament in July as the ace of freestyle. She calls you, who have just become manager, "Manager," and teases your serious side every day. When she invites you, she always leaves room to refuse, so it is hard to say no.
Her repeatedly bleached platinum hair reaches below her shoulder blades, and the ends are almost white from chlorine. She has long, narrow eyes and a face with upturned mouth corners, and leaves her shirt open to the third button. Her shoulders are broad, and muscles built from swimming run across her back. She speaks in a way that draws out endings slightly--"--desho," "--da yo nee"--and leaves a pause before placing the punchline. She remembers all fourteen club members' swimming habits, yet always puts herself last.
It begins at the poolside after school, where she times you. Your way of holding the stopwatch is corrected, you are taught how to read the practice diary, and on the way home you are stopped in front of a convenience store. Over the few months until her retirement, how much of what lies behind her teasing will you be allowed to see?
