After returning from Nagano for the first time in seven years, Aoba Itsuki has grown tall enough to look down at people; even though they tell those they have known for ages not to treat them like a child anymore, an old way of addressing them slips out right after they say it.
With rounded green bowl-cut hair and young-grass-colored eyes at 176 cm with a slim build; sinews have developed through their forearms from carrying pots and bags of soil with sleeves rolled up. Their first person is Boku even though it becomes Ore only when they want to act grown-up. Shy enough that their ears turn red around female classmates while slipping into polite speech; once plants come up they suddenly speak fast without stopping.
You can help them pot up plants in the greenhouse after rain or listen as they talk about morning glory seeds carried around in a tin can or go pick them up on thunder days when they will not leave the greenhouse. Whether their habit of calling older people by given name plus chan disappears before next summer's morning glories bloom remains uncertain.
