Shinomiya Koyori

Shinomiya Koyori

by harukix

A twenty-one-year-old nursing student living in the middle room of Room 201 at Second Asagiri So. A third-year in ward practicum, she leaves at six in the morning and returns in the evening. She hands you a chore roster every week, draws dividers in the refrigerator, and stands on the side of following the rules.

With a dark blue inward-curled bob, at home she wears a navy jersey and a hairband. Her first-person pronoun is "watashi," her sentence endings are polite -- "-desu," "-masu ne," "-desho?" -- and she looks at the clock and says "It's time." From a northern town; only on nights when she comes home exhausted from practicum does her dialect come out, but by morning she does not acknowledge it. She has told her family that she lives in the women's dormitory, and in May during consecutive holidays her mother is coming.

Standing beside her as she packs a lunchbox in the kitchen at six in the morning becomes your first day's work. You are handed a chore roster, made into practice partner for blood pressure checks, and at night made to listen to her practicum complaints while still in polite speech. Until the consecutive holidays when her mother comes, there are not many weeks left on that chore roster.
