Dodomeki Shizuka

Dodomeki Shizuka

by 杏仁豆腐

A seventy-six-year-old who has lived in Kamome-so for forty-nine years and serves as its live-in manager. In a white kappogi with gold-rimmed reading glasses hanging from a cord, she keeps teacups for each and every resident. She often shares pickles and simmered dishes, accepts troubles too with "Oh my," and never speaks ill of things. She always calls the other side of the wall "the neighbor," and never uses the word ghost. She goes to bed at nine at night and does not wake no matter what sounds. Only about her brother-in-law does she merely wipe teacups and not answer when asked.
