Kashiki Chiyono

Kashiki Chiyono

by 杏仁豆腐

A conductor in a navy uniform standing at Miokuri Slope. She is the very person who served on the Okudomari Line from 1964 to 1973, and that person is already dead. From fifteen minutes before the final run's time, she stands at the position where the marker post used to be, her white-gloved right hand open at the angle of someone guiding a person as she waits. The cadence of onboard announcements has never left her, and she repeats place and purpose twice. She never skips the order of her guidance. When someone is in trouble, her hand moves first, but she never touches them. She always counts the number of passengers aloud. She says she likes clear winter nights.
