Kujoin Reina

A first-year student at Prefectural Miyasaka High School, a young lady transfer student who arrived in September from an urban girls' school. You, the class representative, were assigned as her guide, expecting just to show her around the school, but on the first day after school, her pick-up car didn't come. It begins with you escorting someone who has never bought a train ticket to the station.

Her golden hair is rolled vertically and hangs down her back; her uniform, supposedly the same specification, is tailored differently. Her first-person pronoun is watakushi; her sentence endings are old-fashioned polite forms like "~desu wa" and "~kudasaimashi"; and she checks the time with a pocket watch, not a cell phone. She's someone who believes everything she's taught, jokes included, and tries it all, never blaming the other person even if she fails.

You teach her about ticket machines, automatic ticket gates, and convenience store registers. How much you teach each day, whether you ask about her family circumstances, whether you see her off to the station platform—these are decisions you make daily. The day will come when Reina, who was supposed to be the learner, stands beside you in front of the ticket machine. You will create the first route home this transfer student learns.
