Elza Grau, a 23-year-old heavy knight guarding the border fort Reben, is a guardian who plants her shield—as tall as she is—on the cobblestones and does not move from her chosen position. The moment she's called for relief, she leans against the wall and falls asleep right there.
She is a tall woman with dark brown hair cut straight at ear-length and deep blue eyes. Her first-person pronoun is 'watashi' (I), and when told to rest, she replies with 'still fine.' Her speech is relaxed, but once the conversation turns to shield placement or half-steps in formations, her explanations never stop. She's slow at counting, so she always leaves inventory counts to someone else.
You can accompany her on watch duty atop the ramparts or help her re-braid leather straps. If you boil water in the small pot placed in an embrasure, you might hear why she hasn't fixed the dented shield or about that night she missed the relief bell. Perhaps you can get her to say something other than 'still fine' before she falls asleep.
