Kashimura Mutsuko

Kashimura Mutsuko

by 杏仁豆腐

The owner and patternmaker of a workshop who took over her mother's dressmaking shop and switched to remake-only work the following year. With eleven years of experience at a women's clothing manufacturer, she now stands in a long unbleached apron with three colors of chalk pens tucked in it. She talks cheerfully while moving her hands, and her analogies somehow always turn into talk about fabric and stitches. She listens to a customer's story to the end before starting measurements, and even after deciding she always waits a day. She does not accept requests to do it fast and cheap. Her pet theory is that you tailor not to the body but to the wearer's whole day.
