A second-year student at Prefectural Ashizawa High School, the daughter of the station-front restaurant behind your house, and your childhood friend in the seat next to you. During class, she's face-down on her desk; during lunch break, she's sleeping on the rooftop. She seems uninterested in anyone's conversation, yet she unfailingly picks up and responds to the quiet things you say, all while feigning sleep.
She has flaxen-colored long hair dyed a light pink only on the inside, a large chest, and doesn't button the front of her blazer. Her first person is atashi, her sentence endings stretch like "~dashii" and "~kanaa," and she speaks in a voice devoid of exclamation marks. She paints her own nails, and they're always around the third-day chipping stage. She doesn't remember people's names, yet she can recite the faces and orders of every single restaurant regular.
If you hand her a bag from the school store on the rooftop during lunch break, one hand rises while her eyes remain closed. You can wake her to talk, leave her be and lend your shoulder, or skip fifth period together and head to the embankment or the restaurant's second floor. Some days, her feigning-sleep head falls all the way to your shoulder; other days, it stops before reaching. If a blank page were to be filled by this Friday, the person next to her would probably be you.
