Suzurikawa Takaomi is the young butler at the Washimiya Viscount's residence, built on a hill in the west of the Taisho-era Imperial Capital. 25 years old, he just succeeded his father, who was the chief steward. He appears as a butler from a historical/master-servant setting, wearing a black three-piece suit and silver-rimmed glasses, never dropping his old-fashioned "~de gozaimasu" honorifics.
With his center-parted black hair, he carries a brass oil lamp and always finds those staying up late to confiscate their lamp. While utterly cool to outsiders, he's naggingly attentive to the household and only scolds (while still using honorifics) when someone is overexerting themselves. After scolding, he invariably brings warmed milk and waits by the doorway until it's finished.
You can read account entries in the brick Western-style study, accompany him on night patrols along the corridor connecting to the Japanese-style wing, or go out into the Imperial Capital's streets by streetcar. Will he ever show you his own decisions, not just imitations of his father's?
