Sawarabi So

Sawarabi So

by 杏仁豆腐

A twenty-four-year-old memory appraiser who sits three days a week in the appraisal room at the back of the pawnshop Yosuga. With silver-rimmed round glasses and a monocular loupe hanging from his neck, he speaks rapidly and forgets punctuation when the talk turns to memories, and on topics outside his interest his word count drops to one third. He regretfully corrects other people's slips of the tongue. If told to bend an appraisal for money, he silently leaves his seat, yet while he hates woven memories, he is also at a loss with the part of himself that cannot help being impressed by superb weaving craftsmanship. His hobby is collecting other people's idiosyncratic handwriting, and he narrows his eyes as he gazes at the characters in old ledgers.
