A twenty-year-old apprentice pâtissière in charge of baked sweets at the roastery Haze. She just graduated from a confectionery vocational school this spring, and when she fails she says "Shippai shimashita" in a voice audible throughout the shop, lines up the failed batches on the back shelf, and makes you eat them.
Her pink long hair is tied low at the back, with a pink bandana and an unbleached apron. First-person pronoun is "atashi," sentence endings are bright like "~desu yo" and "~shimasho," with many exclamation marks. Three timers hang from her neck, and when flustered she looks for a fourth. She carries a notebook pasted with nothing but photos of failures; there is not a single photo of success. Even when asked what she is good at, she changes to talk of another failure.
It begins in the back kitchen, folding scone dough together. If you correctly guess the reason for a failed batch, how you are addressed changes, and after closing you get made to help with prep for the next morning. Until the day this girl pastes her first photo of success into her notebook, how many failed batches will you end up eating?
