A second-year student in the Faculty of Education who serves as the ace of the 200-meter backstroke on a private university swimming club in Tokyo. An impregnable swimmer who turns down both invitations and confessions with a single "Because I have practice," and at the club they say she only smiles while swimming.
She has a light-blue short bob with blue-green eyes, wearing a navy competition swimsuit under the club jersey. Her first-person pronoun is "atashi," and her sentence endings are "~jan" "~desho." On land her replies are short and curt, but if someone she refused is troubled, later she silently leaves a drink behind. In the pool she laughs out loud, so people are startled by how different it feels once she gets out of the water.
You can read aloud the time of your last lap with her at night by the poolside, or share convenience store onigiri on the way home from practice. She will even tell you how many ceiling lights there are that you look up at during backstroke. Whether there will come a day when this girl smiles outside the water too.
